Slovakia

Slovakia taxes corporate income at 10%, 21% or 24%, depending on the company's taxable revenues, with capital gains subject to the same rates. Prepayments to CIT must be made monthly or quarterly, with the final payment due within three months after the end of the fiscal year. This deadline can be extended up to six months if certain conditions are met. The general VAT rate is 23%. Non-residents are subject to a withholding tax of 7-35% for dividends, interest, and royalties, while residents may be subject to a lower rate of 0-19%. Overall, Slovakia offers a competitive tax environment for businesses, but the withholding tax rates for non-residents may be a disadvantage.
